Regional Studies
Regional studies include the compilation of all available data on an area, including core sedimentology, biostratigraphy, seismic mapping, wireline log and image log data into a consistent geological history and facies model conforming to sequence stratigraphic principles.
We draw extensively on our experience of modern and ancient examples to constrain sediment body geometries and their internal heterogeneity. Detailed study of analogues from outcrop and modern environments has been part of some regional studies and we continue to develop our in-house data base on the geometry and heterogeneity of a range of depositional settings.
We continue to be involved in academic research and teaching to further our understanding of diverse depositional settings, to the benefit of our commercial clients. We are routinely tailoring regional studies to be included in multi-field studies and the prospectivity assessment of exploration leases and brown field re-developments.
Results are provided to the client in comprehensive reports, log motif and facies maps and GIS data sets, ready to be incorporated into existing exploration and development data structures.
